Club Rules

Rules for adults

1. A Responsible adults must stay with young anglers and the children cannot be left alone...

2. Ensure your child is dressed in appropriate clothing for the weather conditions as not all days are the same.

3. It is the responsibility of the child's parent/career to inform us of any changes to the membership details given since they originally enrolled their child and inform us of any allergies that may effect their child during any of the events.

4. The responsible adult will ensure that their child/children abide by the Angling rules set out below at all times.

Angling Rules

1. Due to the various fisheries we use for our events and the experience of the young anglers we wish that barbless hooks are used at all times.
Also Braded line and fixed feeders are not allowed to be used.

2. Landing nets should be used of appropriate size for the fish you are intending to catch and fish should be landed using landing nets.

3. Unhooking matts should be used for the welfare of the fish.

4. Never leave a rod unattended with line & hook in the water. We would prefer you to use one rod. However if you are confident enough to use more than one rod or pole the buts (Handles) should be no more than 3m apart.

5. Baits. Some baits and ground baits are banned in specific fishing areas, Please check if the Bait/Ground bait is usable before using it. Remember "No signs does not mean you can use it"

6. If a child is 13 years to 16 years old they will need a free rod licence from

https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence

7. We expect children to act in a responsible and safe manner when attending fishing events.

8. To comply with close season rules etc. Please remember the Close season for rivers is from March 14th to June the 16th

(the safest way to think of this is, Don't choose to fish rivers on March 15th, and not on June 15th or any days in between these dates)

9. Some people think that you are able to fish all lakes, Some lakes are private, Some are commercial fisheries and some are Nature reserves (Most nature reserves fishing is banned, so when going to a nature reserve please check before fishing, If there is not a "Do not fish sign" it does not mean no fishing allowed)
